Well it isn't the news that broke. Earlier this week a number of us were upset to see, Fire, Police and an Ambulance in front of the building with the street blocked off. What happened was that a swing stage motor stripped its gears and was hanging vertically on stack 8. Luckily our workers are pros and follow safety protocols. They were all strapped in and safe. The only injury was one black eye. Again, PLEASE DON'T WALK UNDER ANY CONSTRUCTION AREAS. You never know! A new motor is being installed on the swing stage.
And now for the rest of the news.
1-Parking bumpers are ordered for the parking deck. We are almost there!
2-Stack 1 construction will resume next week. Excavations have been marked out by our engineer.
3-Stack 8 windows, aka, the front of the building, has all of the stucco applied. Next week we are expecting the painters. The swing stage will then be moved to the other side of the front of the building, aka, stack 2 windows.
4-Stack 8 excavations are continuing in areas not done yet and other areas are ready for concrete placement which will begin as well.
5-The 7 and 8 window area needs to be done in one shot to eliminate the problem of water intrusion due to rain. That is being planned for next week if Mother Nature cooperates.
6-For those of you who are waiting for glass replacement: The contractor is calling out a different glass contractor to measure and see if he can get the glass quicker than our last guy. We all know that the supply chain is all fouled up, but this has been too long a wait.
7-Stack 7 has the last shutter going up this week. (Notice how I got stack 7 to be number 7!)
8-Another reminder to anyone coming down soon. If your unit was worked on, arrange for a cleaning service before you get down, otherwise be prepared to do a cleaning job when you get here. The concrete dust is so fine it gets through everything.
Those of you who will be traveling, please travel safely!
