First off, I just heard from Henry. He and his family are OK! Thank God! I can't wait for him get back home from Haiti.
With no maintenance crew, Ali vacuumed and mopped the lobby this morning and our Foreman, with his injured eye, pulled out our trash dumpsters for us. When you treat people nicely they treat you nicely as well.
I know that Ali sent out an addendum to our Pam Lucas assessment letter. I edited that letter several times and never noticed stack 6 was missing. The stack 6 assessment is $1,863.52. Everyone on stack 6 has been notified.
We are not doing a remake of "The Fiddler on the Roof!" But we are remaking our roof. We reached a point where our roofing company kept "repairing" the roof, but we still kept getting leaks. We voted them off the island! Our new company will cut out cracked and bubbled areas of the roof and fill it with a non-porous substance made for this purpose. They will then coat the entire roof with a new silicone finish which is approved by our insurance company. The silicone roof finish is the latest in flat roof finishes. It is guaranteed for 10 years. Unless they find something wrong, that we don't expect, we should be able to pay for the roof from reserves. The bad news is that they can't start until we get a weather forecast of a full week of dry weather. If the surface is wet new materials will not adhere properly and repel water. Let's all think dry.
Now for the construction update from last week.
Stack 6 is undergoing inspections.
Stack 7 bedroom windows are completed. The painters will be here this week, weather permitting. Stack 7 balcony railings are currently being installed and then the flooring will be completed. THESE BALCONIES ARE STILL OFF LIMITS!!!
Stack 8 is in the last phase of excavations. Then, sliding doors will be removed. Ali will let you know when yours is scheduled. The front of the building, stack 8, is in the final construction phase.
Parking Deck-The material we were waiting for has been delivered. As soon as 6 stack clears final inspections and stack 7 bedroom windows are completed the other 1/2 of the parking deck will be completed.
Are we having fun yet?
Stan
