Another beautiful Pompano Sunrise
Well we hope everyone is well and I know a number of Aristocrats have been able to get part one of the vaccine. We hope everyone stays healthy. So far, we have not had any fatalities or any case of the virus spreading around the building. I hope the end is in sight!
1-A non-construction update. Henry and Simon are not missing. Since we live near the ocean we have to take the good with the bad. The bad is rust. Henry and Simon are scraping rust from our metal exterior doors and treating them with rust inhibitor and rust resistant paint. We have over 40 such doors and the process takes 3 days from start to finish.
2-Our Engineer inspected the 4 stack. There are only small issues to deal with from our contractor's end. None of it requires the swing stage. Unfortunately there are some issues with the railing contractor's installation. The railings were installed safely, but there are 2 or 3 where he is not satisfied with the finishing. We are waiting to see when he shows up to repair and then we can have the swing stage moved. Unfortunately, we are still not able to use 4 stack balconies. Our main contractor is pushing the railing guy because they want the swing stage moved to start on stack 8, so I am hopeful it will happen quickly.
3-5 stack railings were put in. Shutters will be installed shortly and small patching and touch ups will be taking place. The contractor is estimating stack 5 completion in about 4 weeks.
4-Railings are to be installed on stack 6 the beginning of February, which is not far off.
5-A week from this Saturday, the railings near the trash chutes will be removed and the area will be secured with 2x4's and plywood, but PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS IN THAT TRASH CHUTE AREA!
6-Stack 7 is in the process of being excavated and new concrete poured when the excavations are approved by our Engineer. Next week the 1/2 walls will begin being rebuilt where they had to be removed.
7-Stack 8-Are you surprised you made the updates this week? Within the next 2 weeks tiles will be removed from your balconies. Please plan on removing everything from your balcony this weekend. We don't want your stuff ruined and we don't want to slow down our work.
8-Ali and the Board, mostly Ron, are working on setting up our website for "one stop shopping" for Association forms and information. Stay tuned for more details.
FYI-re: the recent photos-It is amazing what beautiful picture I have been able to get through the window. I am looking forward to taking them from the balcony!
